You don't have to go
through grief alone.

A gentle, compassionate space to be heard, held, and guided through loss — at your own pace, with no pressure to be anywhere but here.

Hi, I'm Valda
Shakespeare.

"Grief deserves patience, kindness, and a place to be gently held."

I'm a Certified Grief Coach devoted to helping individuals navigate the deeply personal journey of loss and healing. With compassion, patience, and lived understanding, I support clients as they process grief without pressure or judgement.
I believe grief is not something to "get over," but something to move through — with support, meaning, and care. My work meets you exactly where you are: in the quiet, in the storm, in the small moments of remembering.
Whether you are facing a recent loss or carrying grief that has lived with you for years, you are welcome here. There is no timeline for healing, and no version of you that is too tender to be held.

A SAFE SPACE

You are safe here.

No pressure, no performance, no timeline. Just a quiet place where every part of you is welcome — exactly as you are.
Held with care

This is a space where your story is heard.

You are allowed to feel everything.

You don't have to perform healing here.

Rest is also progress.

GENTLE QUESTIONS

What you might be wondering.

It's natural to have questions before reaching out. Here are a few that come up often — answered with the same softness you'll feel in our sessions.

And if your question isn't here, you're welcome to simply ask.

Is grief coaching the same as therapy?
No — and that distinction matters. Therapy often focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions. Grief coaching is a forward-gentle companionship: I walk beside you as you navigate loss, helping you find language, rituals, and steadiness for the days ahead. If deeper clinical support is needed, I'll always say so kindly.
Softness, mostly. There's no script you need to follow and no 'right' way to grieve. We'll begin with a gentle conversation — about who you've lost, how you're carrying it, and what feels heavy right now. You're allowed to cry, to be quiet, to laugh, or to simply breathe. This is your space.
It depends on what you need. Some people come once for a single breakthrough session; others choose a four-session journey or longer support over several months. We'll find a rhythm that honors your pace — never more than feels right, never less than feels supportive.
Whenever you're ready — even a little ready. Whether your loss was last week or twenty years ago, grief doesn't follow a calendar. If something inside you is asking for support, that's reason enough to begin.
All of them. The death of a loved one, of course — but also the quieter griefs we rarely name: the end of a relationship, a dream, an identity, a chapter of life. Loss of health, of home, of who we used to be. If it aches, it's welcome here.
Yes. Children grieve through play, behavior, and questions rather than words alone. The Kids Grief Healing Package is designed to meet little hearts gently and age-appropriately, in partnership with their caregivers.
Online, via a private video call, so you can be somewhere that feels safe — wrapped in a blanket, holding tea, with your dog at your feet. Wherever softness lives for you.
That's perfectly okay. You don't need to arrive with words ready. Sometimes the most healing conversations begin with silence, a tear, or simply 'I don't know where to start.' I'll meet you there.
